Today is fine and sunny so I decided to walk across the fields to our local wood to see if the Wood Anemonies were flowering and indeed they were. They are not yet at their best as all the flowers are not yet out so perhaps in a week or two they will be as spectacular as ever. There are already photographs of these on the web site:
The weather is forecast to be good next week so Amanda and I will probably visit a number of other woods in the area to see if they too have Wood Anemonies. I shall, of course, keep our findings secret.
I have arranged with English Heritage to take photographs of Audley End House near Saffron Walden in Essex. I shall wait a little longer until there are a reasonable amount of leaves on the trees before doing that. Well we want the gardens to look their best don't we?
However English Heritage have suggested I make a trip first to reconnoitre inside and out to see what views I might take. That sounds interesting and I shall look forward to it!
