Bury Wood and English Longhorn cattle in Epping Forest Location map

This is that part of the forest known as Bury Wood which is mostly Hornbeam and Oak although there are other trees such as Wild Service, Maple, Holly and Rowan.

These may be fearsome looking beasts, very muscular with impressive looking horns, but they are exceptionally placid.

Cattle had been grazing in the forest for hundreds of years although it had declined recently but an effort is now being made to re-introduce them again.
