| This view is from the sea wall looking back towards Shinglehead Point which is
seen sticking out from the sea wall on the left. The top of the offshore shingle
bank is seen protruding above the water on the right.
There were large numbers of wading birds arrayed along the top of the bank
waiting for the water to recede once again so that they can get back to feeding
on the mud flats.
At some high tides the bank is completely submerged and the water is only a
few feet from the top of the sea wall.
