|Parking in Bourton-on-the-Water, Gloucestershire.||Location map|
There is one car park in Rissington Road with 229 spaces and 3 disabled spaces. The exorbitant charges start at £1.00 for the first hour and the classification that the local government give this car park is 'Tourist' although I would suggent 'Rip-Off' as an alternative classification particularly when charges apply only to this car park for 7 days a week. Other chargeable car parks have charges applied Monday to Saturday.
'But what can we do' I hear you cry. The answer, if you really don't want to walk, is to park in the free car park at Stow-on-the-Wold and get the bus to Bourton-on-the-Water; a ten minute journey and the return fare of £1.20 is cheaper than two hours parking and you could stay all day. Buses run about every hour and you can get free timetables for this journey from the Tourist Information Centre in Stow.
There is some on-road parking in the village.
