This shows the West Tower which was where the Bishop had his private rooms.

The palace has actually been rebuilt three times.

Looking from the end wall of the Great Hall towards the service rooms and the kitchen.

William of Wykeham died in the palace in 1404. Its present condition is largely due to its capture by the Roundheads during the Civil War leaving these imposing ruins.
