15th Century Cheyney Court.
This view is from just inside the cathedral precincts near Priors Gate. The jettied construction can be seen at the floor level of the upper storey. Priors Gate is on the right.

The wall on the right is part of the old wall which surrounded the cathedral precincts.

The Medieval Kings Gate.
This is one of two surviving fortified Medieval city gates. However all is not what it seems. The obvious doorway on the right leads to some stairs but what is on the upper storey may not be what you expect (See the interior view) .

The entrance to Winchester College.
There are tours at set times to enable visitors to see around some of the college. Just look at the wonderful ceiling inside the first arch. Founded in 1382 it is believed to be the oldest continuously running school in England. The house in which Jane Austen died is nearby.
