The woods on the Ashridge Estate owned by the National Trust and open to all. The Ashridge estate covers about 5000 acres and extends to Ivinghoe Beacon.

The Ashridge Estate is covered in paths going in all directions some of which are also bridleways where horse riding is permitted.
