I stayed at the Royal Lion Hotel on Broad Street for the duration of my visit to Lyme Regis in June 2014 and I made my booking by telephone two days before I travelled arriving at
about 1:00 PM on a Sunday.
The hotel has its own car park with the entrance at one end of the hotel. I didn't use or see the car park so cannot comment on it because I was travelling by train and bus. I was
shown to my room as soon as I arrived which turned out to be a family room with a double and single bed. I chose to use the single bed which is mostly out of the right-hand side of
the picture except for a small part of the corner which can just be seen through the banister rail. The bathroom is to the right of the camera position at the top of a short flight of
stairs and is very well appointed.
There was a terrace that could be accessed from the room and the very first photograph I took was from the terrace. The top of the guildhall is visible with the sea beyond. I
stayed here for three nights but I could happily stay for a week in a room like this.
The restaurant, unusually, is on the first floor and I found it to be a very pleasant room. Food at breakfast and dinner was excellent and the menu at dinner was really quite
varied with a good selection of options. I enjoyed my meals here and the staff were always very pleasant and willing to help. There is also a nice residents lounge on the first floor
with a bay window which gives views up and down Broad Street.
The hotel is located right in the centre of town which is very convenient and I am more than happy to recommend the Royal Lion Hotel.
