View of the Spanish Garden, Kensington Roof Gardens, London, England   Kensington.

The Spanish Garden - one of a number of themed areas in this one and a half acre garden and on a warm sunny day it certainly felt exotic.

These gardens are on the roof of what used to be the Derry & Toms Department store and were created in 1938. For information about access see this page.

This shady covered area is part of the Spanish Garden and leads into the Tudor garden.

These gardens are apparently the largest roof gardens in Europe.

This is in the Woodland Garden which features a small stream and this bridge. There are 30 different species of trees in the woodland garden, including trees from the original planting of over seventy years ago, despite having only 36 inches of soil in which to grow.
