Standing on the top of West Hill, near the castle, looking across Hastings Old Town towards East Hill and the sea. The sandy coloured beach of The Stade, on the right, is where the fishing boats are launched.

This large open part of West Hill runs inland following the edge of the old town as far as All Saints Church where you can cross the road onto East Hill.
