I live locally and had visited the village a while ago, we had some visitors from Germany, who wanted to see a traditional English village, Aldbury for me was the ideal, unfortunately when we arrived the pond was full of weeds, and you could barely see any water at all, the gardens around the village were unkempt and full of weeds and rubbish, I felt embarrassed and upset that the reality does not match in any way the portrayal in the pictures or what I remembered, there seemed little pride in the area from the residents.
