Comment about Biggin Dale, Derbyshire

Have walked Biggin Dale on many occasions but this weekend 10/May/08 is the first time at this time of year. The weather was glorious leaving Hartington and when we entered the top end of Biggin Dale the sight of masses of Early Puple Orchids amongst miniature cowslips was truly amazing. Intensely coloured Gorse also set off the trees that were just bursting into leaf. The flora continued down Biggin Dale and into Wolfscote Dale. Completing the circuit of 6 miles back to Hartington and tea vial Beresford Dale. Highly recommended.
