Comment about the County of Kent

I just wanted to let you in on a trip we took from Victoria Coach Station in London via coach. It was very inexpensive. We went to Dover to see the White Cliffs. It was absolutely amazing. We hiked up to Dover Castle where we visited the underground tunnels used in world war 2 including an underground hospital. It was all very interesting and historic.

We ate at a wonderful little pub in town and did manage to visit a few of the stores where prices were great for gifts to bring home with Factory Outlets. We did go on Sunday so a lot of the stores were closed. One more thing; also be sure to check out the Wedgewood Factory Outlet. I bought a beautiful set of china for peanuts and was very thrilled. Well worth the trip!

I so much enjoyed this leg of our journey that I thought I might share it with you! This was not a pre-arranged tour and I booked the tickets on line at National Express. I hope other people take advantage of this and enjoy it as much as we did.

I live in Margate, in the county of Kent. I stumbled across this site while looking for a photograph of Westgate towers in Canterbury. I just wanted to say how happy and proud it makes me to see that someone has taken the time to write so many nice things about my county. :) Kent is a beautiful place, they call it 'the garden of england', and for good reason. If any of your readers/members are planning a trip to kent, i highly recommend visiting margate. It's part of a group of towns know as 'the isle of thanet', comprising of three historic towns - Margate, Ramsgate, and Broadstairs. Its beautiful in the summer. ...that's it really, happy travels! :)
