Comment about Stebbing, Essex

I live in Romford and am researching my ancestry. Apparently my paternal Grandfather, Robert Brand was born in Stebbing, and I intend to visit there to trace anything about him and his family. He moved at sometime to London where he married my Grandmother. They had a number of children, apparently 19 yes nineteen, one of them being my father. I have obtained a copy of the census for 1900 which shows his address in London and also that he was born in Stebbing, He said he was 28 in 1900. Anything known about him please.
