Comment about Worcester Cathedral, Worcestershire

Just down the road a piece from the Royal Worcester Porcelain Factory (which does offer a tour and a grand 'seconds' shop), is Worcester Cathedral. With my love of British history, it was the cathedral that received my attention the one day I was in town. "Bad" King John is buried there and I wanted to pay homage.

The cathedral doesn't have a lot of stained glass or gold trimmings. For eye impact it doesn't compare with Kings College Chapel or Bath Abbey, but the contrast between light and dark, as in King John's dark tomb and Prince Arthur's Chantry (he was the older brother of Henry VIII) is lovely. This cathedral seems to have more wood involved in its decorations, as opposed to limestone carved blocks.

It is definitely worth a look-see...if during your journey you haven't been cathedraled-out.

This is a lovely building and the city is fantastic. I visited there and it was amazing, so kind, so clean and beautiful. I would advise anyone to go and have a visit.
