The interior of 'Wheat Barn' gives the impression of an agricultural cathedral with those wooden pillars arranged along the 'nave' and the aisles on the outer edges.

At the far end you can see a platform structure with steps leading up. That is a modern addition to allow you to get closer to the roof and see the amazing carpentry detail.

This is the interior of 'Barley Barn'. The vertical posts with the spreading timbers at the top supporting the roof are similar to those in 'Wheat Barn' but the rest of the roof detail is quite different. Although not as large as 'Wheat Barn' it is still a very impressive space.

The roof construction detail in 'Barley Barn' can be seen to be quite different from that in 'Wheat Barn'.

This is described thus: 'Unlike the other barn the trusses in the Barley Barn follow two designs with the two forming the midstrey carrying elegant double scissor braces between the double tie beams'.
