This view of Bridge Cottage, and Flatford Bridge just beyond, is the first you will see as you arrive at the bottom of the lane (behind the camera).
This thatched cottage, which appears in several of Constable's paintings, together with the bridge, are just upstream of Flatford Mill and the cottage currently houses an exhibition about John Constable.

Rowing boats are available for hire at Flatford Bridge although it isn't possible to row down to the mill as there is a lock in the way.

This view is seen from Flatford Bridge looking across the river into into North Essex. The path winding its way across the pasture is the path to Dedham.
