The elegant main staircase showing typical Victorian wall tiles and terrazzo flooring. This could easily be the sort of stairs found in a stately home.

The spacious central Main Hall has a high ceiling supported by substantial tiled piers with round-headed arches.

The Pierhead Suite was the impressive office of the Chief Dock Manager and can be found upstairs. Designed in grand style with walnut panelling and ornate ceiling plasterwork, the centrepiece is the canopied terracotta ornamental chimneypiece with canopy, castellation, foliated columns and herringbone tiles.

Artefacts on display include the original binnacle (the stand housing the ship's compass) from Robert Falcon Scott's ship the Terra Nova.
