In 1903 Charles Rolls, from a Monmouthshire aristocratic family and better known for co-founding the luxury motoring brand Rolls-Royce, built his own plane and made the first recorded controlled, piloted flight in Wales.
I don't know about you but I wouldn't want to risk flying a plane like that!

This replica of Trevithick's Penydarren locomotive, on display in the Museum today, was built using Trevithick's original documents and plans and was inaugurated in 1981.
This locomotive is run under steam along a short length of track at the museum just once a year.

This car, dating from around 1900, is a Benz 'Duc' first registered in Monmouthshire by a Doctor Cropper from Chepstow. It has a 7HP engine and has completed the London to Brighton Vintage car rally several times.
I imagine that it would be rather fun to ride in this car in driving rain.
