There are a considerable number of very finely detailed model ships in the Maritime Gallery of which this one of HMS Vanguard is an example and there are a lot of other marine related exhibits.

There is a gallery that details the history of flight together with actual aircraft suspended from the roof. Aircraft on show include many from the pioneer days of aviation, such as the most authentic Antoinette monoplane (1909) to be seen anywhere in the world.

This shows the Hawker Hurricane used in World War II and just beyond it on the right is the Spitfire.

The aircraft in the foreground is the Hawker Siddeley HS.125, a twin engined mid-sized corporate jet, and just above and beyond it is the Gloster Whittle E28/39 the first jet powered allied aircraft which first flew in 1941.
