More information about the Natural History Museum, South Kensington, London. Location map

About 1.5 miles west of Buckingham Palace.

Nearest Underground stations:

South Kensington (Circle/District/Piccadilly lines)

Download a printable PDF document detailing positions of the various locations shown on the Kensington web pages.

The easiest way to get to the museum from the station is through the pedestrian subway. When you come through the ticket barrier you will see the street outside through the exit on the left but on the right-hand side of the ticket hall is the entrance to the pedestrian subway. The first exit is sign-posted to the Natural History Museum.

Entry is free. There is a restaurant, two cafes and a snack bar within the museum together with numerous toilets. There is a free floor plan available in the museum and, believe me, you'll need it. Alternatively you can view, and print, the floor plans here.
