Views of the Town, Ludlow, Shropshire, England

This is from near The Feathers Hotel looking north and you can see, from the view, that Ludlow is perched on a hill.
The high ground in the distance is Wenlock edge and the Long Myndd.

Church Street at the junction with College Street near Castle Square.
This little lane runs parallel with the High Street (not much wider) and Market Street (almost as narrow) and all three run from King Street into Castle Square.
It is impossible to walk these back streets without seeing ancient buildings at every turn.

The junction of Broad Street and King Street.
Here you can see the Buttercross with the clock on top, the tower of the parish church and the very impressive timber-framed buildings at the top of Broad Street.

Looking through Bell Lane into Brand Lane.
These narrow lanes are to be found all over Ludlow town centre and most of them feature ancient timber-framed buildings.
The first junction, on the bottom edge of the picture, is Raven Lane. The next junction is Broad Street with Brand Lane on the other side.
The building on the right in deep shadow is yet another ancient timber-framed building.

Dinham Bridge.
This narrow little bridge carries the road from Ludlow up into Mortimer Forest. Ludlow Castle can be seen above the trees on the right.
There is a footpath near this point which goes up through Whitcliffe Common to an excellent viewpoint at the top.
