More Information about Alfriston, Sussex
We found Alfriston to be the perfect centre for two reasons. It is a lovely little village in it's own right and it's really not far from all the interesting locations in the surrounding area. The Tye is a really nice place to sit in the sun and soak up the atmosphere.
There are Downs either side of the village within easy walking distance, level river walks, Cuckmere Haven is a 5 mile level walk or a mile drive plus a 1 mile walk, Seaford Head is a 5 mile drive, Friston Forest is only 3 miles away on foot or by car and Beachy Head is just 11 miles away and these are just a small selection of places to vist.
There is a bus service through the village to Seaford where you can connect with other bus routes which would, for example, enable you to get to Beachy Head. If you intend using the buses then get the appropriate timetables before you go. There is a normal service through Alfriston and a special Rambler Bus at weekends.
