Parking Information for Cuckmere Haven, South Downs, Sussex

There is free parking available on Seaford Head (See parking on the coast page for details) but it would mean that you would be confined to the western part of Cuckmere Haven unless you are prepared to get your feet wet walking through the shallow river where it runs across the beach into the sea. That would be possible only with an ebbing tide.

There are two car parks at Exceat, which is about a mile from Cuckmere Haven, run by the Seven Sisters Country Park and they are chargeable at £2.50 for up to 2 hours (time for only a lightning visit) or £3.50 for over 2 hours. These car parks close, I believe, before dusk.

You could park in the Friston Forest Car Park, the charge for a day is £1.50, to the north west of West Dean, entrance via the Litlington Road, and walk the three quarters of a mile to Exceat.

The above information is based on our visit to Exceat and Cuckmere Haven in September 2007.
