Avebury Manore, Avebury, Wiltshire

Avebury Manor, owned and restored by the National Trust, is unusual in that the funishings and fittings can be touched, sat in or laid on. Each room has been restored for different periods and this Dining Room is as it was in the Georgian period.
The wallpaper was hand-painted in China as the original wallpaper would have been.

The Tudor Parlour has a number of very impressive tapestries hanging on the walls some of which can be seen on both sides of the fireplace.
These tapestries are photographic reproductions of some genuine Tudor tapestries and the results are remarkable. Standing up close and even touching them, which is permitted, it is hard to believe they aren't genuine.
