Parking Information for Staithes, North Yorkshire Moors, England

When parking in Staithes you have two choices.

1. Parking in the Staithes Lane (Bank Top) car park - Chargeable.   Details & location map

Parking in the Scarborough District is, without doubt, expensive and the charges for Staithes are seasonal which means the council is hoping to relieve visitors of as much money as they can.

Comment from a visitor:

"Bank Top Staithes Car Park

Hi. Just a warning to all people using this car park. If you use the council carpark, make sure you buy a ticket from the correct machine. I inadvertently used a machine from the rival carpark next door and received a parking charge from the council. Apart from that, Staithes itself is well worth the visit and do visit the Fox and Hounds pub just up the road.

2. Parking in the Cowbar Lane car park - Free.   Location Map

On the other side of Staithes, across the beck, is Cowbar and you have to use a different road to get there by car. Near the end of Cowbar Lane, before it starts to descend into Staithes, is a small road off to the left which leads into a free car parking area on the cliff top. You will then walk only as far as you would with the Bank Top Car Park so you are no worse off in that respect.
