The River Chelmer.

The road bridge carries traffic from Heybridge across the river and up Market Hill, to the right, into the centre of Maldon. This view is looking downstream towards Hythe Quay.

Just beyond the bridge is the confluence of the Rivers Chelmer and Blackwater.

Looking across the Chelmer to the top of the hill on which Maldon stands. In the larger view the castellated tower of the Maeldune Centre, at the top of Market Hill, can just be seen showing above the rooves on the left hand side of the picture.
