Sandwich (2), Kent

Church Street St. Mary's runs from Strand Street through to Delf Street with numerous ancient buildings each side. There are two 'Church Streets' in Sandwich so the extra bit on the name, 'St. Mary's' gives it a unique identity. Could be confusing otherwise. The other one is Church Street St. Clement's.

Guildcount Lane connects Harnet Street and Bowling Street and runs parallel to Strand Street. This view is from Harnet Street.

The Butchery runs from Strand Street and joins Market Street at the junction with Potter Street. A little way down on the left is a doctor's surgery which means that it has a rather unfortunate, or appropriate, address depending on your point of view.

Love Lane starts here in Strand Street and, at its junction with Three Kings Yard, changes into St. Peter's Street. You may notice that there is a post at each end of the narrow bit to prevent cars, or larger, from entering which I imagine is to prevent damage to the overhanging parts of the buildings. There is however room for motorbikes, pedal cycles and, of course, pedestrians.
