The County of Somerset

The County of Somerset, in the south west corner of England, is part of the 'West Country' together with Dorset, Devon and Cornwall. It includes part of the wild expanse of Exmoor which is, of course, Lorna Doone country and Lynton and Lynmouth are just over the Devonshire border as is the rest of Exmoor. On its eastern edge it borders Wiltshire.
Somerset includes the smallest church in England, the mysterious Tarr Steps, the Quantock Hills, Cheddar Gorge, Wells Cathedral and the West Somerset Steam Railway.
