The Bishop's Palace (2), Wells, Somerset, England
The vaulted Entrance Hall, dating from the 13th century, with the entrance to the restaurant in the medieval undercroft on the left. This one of the oldest parts of the palace.

The Well Pool in the Bishop's Palace Garden where the springs rise. It may come as a surprise to learn that the water flows at around 40 gallons per second. That really is quite a lot of water.
This viewpoint also provides a rather nice view of the cathedral with the Lady Chapel nearest the camera and the central tower showing beyond.

Part of one of the flower beds bordering the Well Pool. This part of the garden is actually outside the walled area and is situated between the palace and the cathedral. You have to cross back over the moat, but still staying within the palace grounds, to get here.

Seen from the path between the moat and the wall the surplus water from the Well Pool discharges into the moat producing this attractive little waterfall.
