West Hill, Hastings, Sussex
Standing on the top of West Hill, near the castle, looking across Hastings Old Town towards East Hill and the sea. The sandy coloured beach of The Stade, on the right, is where the fishing boats are launched.
This large open part of West Hill runs inland following the edge of the old town as far as All Saints Church where you can cross the road onto East Hill. In the larger picture the steps which go up East Hill alongside the funicular can just be seen.
The modern part of Hastings including the pier from the top of West Hill.
Looking down from West Hill at the beach with part of the old sea cliffs in the foreground which are now left high and dry.
